A friend of mine home in Nfld from Fort Mcmurray on vacation decided to come up to Labrador for a few days, so on Monday I road down as far as Port Hope to meet him, with plans to camp and fish on the way back home.
Loaded up the KLR
Met up with Brian in Port Hope as planned and we did a little exploring before going camping.
The salmon were jumping. We managed to get a few bites, but never reeled anything in.
The next morning we made our way back to Goose. Around 1000kms on the clock so far.
When the weather was nice Brian strapped his jacket to his bike, only to have a bungee break. The muffler and rear wheel made short work of the jacket.
The Labrador Hwy can be hazardous.
We spent that evening playing around in the garage, and Wednesday we did some riding around Goose Bay.
Up to about 1250kms now.
Thursday we loaded up and headed south again.
We made good time and made our way down to Lanse-aux-Loups to camp.
Leaving Goose Bay
No touring bike would get down this path.
We had breakfast and continued south into Quebec.
I then left Brian at the ferry and headed back north.
The Pinware River
Dust clouds and sunsets don’t make for great visibility
One last night of camping and then the final 300 kms home this morning.
Just over 2500kms for the week. I’ll sleep good tonight.
