Saturday morning I was up and out of the house early with a plan to head out the south side of the bay. The forecast was calling for sun, so I could live with the -20C and wind.
Sunrise on the Churchill River
Kennemish, with the Mealy Mountains in the background
It’s a big lake
Big Point portage
The view from Lowland point on the north side
270kms, all told. Was a nice morning, but the wind picked up on the far end of the lake, and it was pretty cold on the east end. So I picked up the pace on the north side and came straight home. A little under 9 hours for the trip.
Great way to spend the day.
